Product Praise ft. The Body Shop [Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash]

Disco ball. This is the only word I think is the most appropriate to visually describe my skin at the end of a long day. My oily skin type is taking all the blame for that. I was under the pretence that any kind of facial wash that was specifically developed for the oily skin type was all just a gimmick. It was a hard concept for my head to wrap around the idea that using a facial wash helps in dealing with this problem. I knew of and have used great moisturisers/primers that have aided me in fighting this problem, but certainly not facial washes.

This cynical view of mine took a great big U-turn when I started using this product from Body Shop. Initially, I bought this product as it helped me reach a set price so that I will eligible to redeem a voucher. I didn’t have any expectations and really just assumed it is just another facial wash for me to try.

After my first attempt at using this product, I was genuinely shocked to find my face a lot less shiny at the end of a very long day. I was very pleased and surprised that this product actually works for oily skin types. I made sure no Primers were used when testing the facial wash to get reliable and fair result. So imagine, if I did use a facial wash and a great face Primer? The results would be even more impressive.

This facial wash has a very lovely scent and a little of it goes a long way too. For £8.50, it is just great. My perceptions about using facial washes specially designed for oily skin has changed for the better.

I personnaly love body shop. Their products are great. I had exactly the same problem with you but my skin then changed to combination skin. Lol. #magic. However I use a lot of products from their tea tree range. I just might try this particular one though, just because ☺️☺️

Thanks for sharing! I have extremly oily skin as well and will look into the facial wash. I swear by Becca Ever Matte primer to keep my oil at bay. I’ll be doing a product review on it soon

Haha, disco ball. I have oily skin too and I feel there’s not much I can do about it but blot the shine away. I have to shower every day and it’s super annoying! xx

This product sounds wonderful, though I don’t have oily skin. I have really sensitive skin though, and need to be careful of what I use. So far, only St. Ives Apricot scrub doesn’t irritate my skin, but I can’t use that everyday.

I love St.Ives, especially the Apricot scrub! This product is definitely gentle but I’d recommend testing it before you start using it regularly 😄

Thank you so much! Dry skin, I’d recommend Cetaphil moisturising lotion. My skin tends to have dry patches since I use topical acne gel on a daily basis. I use Cetaphil on top of a acne gel and it really helps with the dryness 🙂 hope this helps! You could also try The Body Shop’s Vitamin E moisturiser 🙂

Cosmetic catastrophe is a really good face mask for problematic skin as it dries up any blemishes.
Boots also does a witch hazel peel off mask which does wonders for the face when suffering from break-outs too.

I love Body Shop! I use some of their Seaweed products too, as well as their tea tree oil products, they both work really well on oily skin! I use one of the Seaweed night serums and I’ve noticed that I don’t wake up with a greasy face anymore either 😀

I love The Body Shop but I haven’t bought anything there in awhile. I will for sure try this! I have seborrheic dermatitis, which presents like dry skin (because it’s red and flaky) but is really oily skin (it’s an oil/yeast based rash). I will have to try this and share it with the readers on my seborrheic dermatitis blog. I’m also on the hunt for a new mask – let me know if you have a favorite!

I’m glad this was helpful to you 😄I haven’t heard of seborrheic dermatitis before. Hoping for the best result when you try this product out 😄 I never use masks as such but tend to use home made masks when I do need one 🙂
